The manufacturing sector in Taiwan continued to expand in September, albeit at a slower rate, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 50.8.
That's down from 53.0 in August, although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Individually, production declined for the first time since May 2016 amid renewed falls in both total new orders and export sales.
Raw material shortages weighed on supplier performances.
