Swiss Inflation Slows In September

Switzerland's inflation eased in September, figures from the Federal Statistical Office showed Friday.

Consumer price inflation slowed more-than-expected to 1 percent from 1.2 percent in August. A similar lower rate was last seen in May. Economists had forecast a 1.1 percent increase in consumer prices.

Month-on-month, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent after staying flat in the previous month. Prices were expected to gain 0.2 percent.

The Swiss National Bank forecast 0.9 percent inflation for 2018 and 0.8 percent next year.
