The manufacturing sector in South Korea slipped into contraction territory, the latest survey from Nikkei showed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 48.6.
That's down from 51.0 in October, and it moves beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Individually, a sharp drop in new orders weighed heavily on the index, while weak economic conditions dragged exports down.
Business confidence was at its lowest level since August 2016.
