The Bank of England retained benchmark rate at 0.75 percent and asset purchase target at GBP 435 billion, as expected. Following the decision, the pound fell slightly against its major counterparts.
The pound was trading at 141.78 against the yen, 1.2540 against the franc, 0.9035 against the euro and 1.2688 against the greenback around 7:05 am ET.
