The pound climbed against its major counterparts in the European session on Thursday.
The U.K. currency strengthened to a 2-week high of 0.8853 against the euro and near a 2-month high of 1.2886 versus the franc, from its early lows of 0.8876 and 1.2818, respectively.
The pound rose to 1.2995 against the greenback, from more than a 3-week low of 1.2922 hit at 9:15 pm ET.
Having dropped to 147.71 against the yen at 11:45 pm ET, the pound changed course and appreciated to a session's high of 148.59.
The next possible resistance for the pound is seen around 0.87 against the euro, 150.00 against the yen and 1.32 versus both the franc and the greenback.
