Poland Core Inflation Rises More Than Expected To 7-month High

Poland's inflation, excluding food and energy prices, accelerated faster-than-expected in August to its highest level since January, data from the National Bank of Poland showed Friday.

The consumer price index, net of food and energy prices, rose 0.9 percent year-on-year in August following 0.6 percent in July. Economists had forecast 0.8 percent inflation.

The figure was the highest since January, when core inflation was 1 percent.

On a month-on-month basis, the core CPI edged up 0.1 percent reversing a similar size fall in the previous month.
