Norway's trade surplus increased in August reflecting a double-digit growth in exports, Statistics Norway said Monday.
Exports advanced 11.3 percent on a monthly basis taking the annual growth to 28.1 percent in August. At the same time, imports climbed 3 percent on month and 2.6 percent annually.
The trade surplus increased to NOK 31.8 billion from NOK 24.49 billion in July. In the same period last year, the surplus totaled NOK 13.9 billion.
Meanwhile, data showed that the mainland trade balance showed a shortfall of NOK 14.8 billion compared to a deficit of NOK 21.64 billion in July.
