The manufacturing sector in Myanmar continued to contract in September, albeit at a slower rate, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 47.5.
That's up from 46.4 in August, although it remains beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Individually, input costs and output charges were driven higher by unfavorable exchange rates, while output and new orders deteriorated further.
There was a record decline in purchasing activity, although confidence rose to its highest level since November.
