Australia Has A$1.925 Billion Trade Surplus

Australia had a seasonally adjusted merchandise trade surplus of A$1.925 billion in November, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.

That was shy of expectations for a surplus of A$2.175 billion and down from A$2.316 billion in October.

Exports rose A$532 million (1 percent) to A$38.445 billion. Non-monetary gold rose A$681 million (60 percent). Non-rural goods fell A$173 million (1 percent) and rural goods fell A$34 million (1 percent).

Net exports of goods under merchanting remained steady at A$37 million. Services credits rose A$57 million (1 percent).

Imports rose A$620 million (2 percent) to A$36.520 billion. Capital goods rose A$433 million (7 percent), consumption goods rose A$202 million (2 percent) and non-monetary gold rose A$30 million (9 percent).

Intermediate and other merchandise goods fell A$22 million. Services debits fell A$22 million.
